Steven McCrae, in Chroma, expresses a tightly tucked chin and a strong curving line of the spine to give the sense of dynamic energy reminiscent of a tightly coiled spring. We feel the explosive nature of this movement and the suggestion of tension building towards release – like a bow releasing an arrow. We respond instinctively to the primal intensity of the movement, and the elegant simplicity of the form
